July 12 - August 24: "John Greene Recent Works ."
".....John Greene is a 'painter's painter,' an artist who luxuriates in the process of applying paint to canvas in order to create surfaces that are, at once, gestural and meditative. if his is an art of Whistlerian suggestion and elegance, it is also an art of active explorations and discovery of forms, textures and colors that together, enable us to 'see and see again' the many pictorial possibilities inherent in his world view...." Grant Holcomb, Director Memorial Art Gallery/University of Rochester, 2008.
"Mr. Greene's abstract paintings bring to mind Diebenkorn's landscapes and Gorky's fluid line but intrigue the viewer further with their sensuality and emphasis on texture, created by the application of layered wax, paint chips, copper and wood." Wall Street Journal, "Leisure & Arts," October 2004
Michael Rivera, Sculpture -- Joining John Greene for this show is sculptor, Michael Rivera. His artwork is often described as a study of the word "nature." His work reflects the natural world and human nature, often juxtaposing them.
Thank you! To all of you who visited us at our opening artist reception on Saturday, July 12th. We hope you enjoyed the artwork and the award winning white wines from the Cascade Mountain Winery. We look forward to seeing you again.

Update on The White Gallery -- Since the fire in May, we've been working tirelessly on renovating the gallery. Hopefully we'll be ready to move back to our gallery at 342 Main Street in September. We'll keep you posted. In the meantime, don't hesitate to stop by our temporary gallery behind the Boathouse Restaurant in Lakeville.
Turning One Gallery Into an Art Scene
The Lakeville Journal Encompass
NOT LONG AGO, there were no art galleries in Lakeville. Now there are four, including the Tremaine Gallery at Hotchkiss (during the school year.)
And there is no question that they've given the cultural and business tone of the village a major boost.
Two very visible gallery owners are Tino and Susan Galluzzo, whose White Gallery is entering its sixth season. When they opened their dorrs, Morgan Lehman Gallery had just opened. In 2003, Argazzi Art appeared on the scene. "Then we had a critical mass of three," laughed Tino Galluzzo.
One of the many parts of operating in the Northwest Corner that delights the Galluzzos is the combination of sophistication with the sense of small-town community.
