Artist Bio
Kim Radochia is a Boston-area artist whose sculptures, installations, drawings, and public works have been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions throughout the United States for the past sixteen years. Her site-specific sculptures!are installed in public and private locations, often in nontraditional venues. She has been chosen to design and install public works in residential communities, schools, office buildings, and in neglected urban areas.
Recent exhibitions and installations include a solo exhibition at Boston´s Oma Group Gallery and permanent installations at a Boston school, a Florida residential community, and at the Boston Convention Center. She has been in important group exhibitions in Chicago, New Hampshire, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and New York.
Radochia attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston!and has studied at the Paul Flurry Foundry in France as well as!receiving a certificate in welding. She has been a finalist in the Mother`s Rest Park Project sponsored by the New England Foundation for the Arts and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department; the Riverbend Sculpture Biennial in Owensboro, KY; and, the City of Coral Springs Public Art Program and is currently a finalist for a sculptural installation at the Children’s Hospital in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Her recent studio work examines the interconnections between the natural world and women´s history. She!does experimental and experiential castings in pulp;smoke drawings; installations that use light as a medium, and!large outdoor sculptures sometimes incorporating ephemeral materials. She is intrigued by!communication systems and how art can be!used to better understand the complexities of!politics, history, and spirit.
